Dr. Jennifer Davis joined JAG-Missouri in 2021 after a 26-year career in public education. Throughout her career, her goal has been to create equality and equity for students to succeed academically, professionally, and socially; to ensure all students graduate and have positive outcomes in order to thrive rather than survive; and to ensure all staff are nurturing and create a safe learning environment to support students.

Most recently, Davis served five years as Principal at St. Clair High School, during which time she brought JAG to the district. Her goal as Principal was to ensure all students excelled academically in a caring environment. During her time there, St. Clair reduced failure rates by
95 percent while combatting student apathy and requiring students to complete quality assignments.

From 2012-16, she was Principal of Clark-Vitt Elementary for Union R-XI School District. She was Curriculum Director for Union R-XI from 2009-12. From 2007-09, she served as Assistant Principal at Clark-Vitt Elementary and Curriculum Director for Union R-XI.. And prior to moving into administration, she was Seventh Grade Teacher St. Clair Junior High from 1995-2006.

During her career, Davis has evaluated and implemented effective academic programming for students; graduated from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Leadership Academy; supervised extra-curricular activities; written and received a $40,000 grant for The Leader in Me; orchestrated district-wide textbook adoptions and purchases; and trained in Professional Learning Communities, Instructional Practice Inventory, Balanced Literacy, The Leader in Me, and Mizzou Pilot for Teacher Evaluation Network of Educator Effectiveness.

Davis earned her Bachelor’s, Specialist and Doctoral degrees from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, and her Master’s degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. She also attended the Harvard Graduate Studies in Education.

What Our Students Are Saying

Before I joined JAG, I was lost. JAG provided assistance in pinpointing a career and making steps in order to pursue it. My JAG Specialist motivated me to make connections and to continue my education in the emergency response industry. JAG has changed my life!

JAG has been a life changer.

JAG pushes us out of our comfort zone. It has truly helped me find my voice. I have learned how to voice my opinions the right way – when to speak and when to listen. Without JAG I have no doubt I would still be living my old life. I wish I could have found my voice sooner, but the important thing now is: I have found it, and I will never let it go.

I felt hopeless because no matter what I did, I thought the future I wanted was too far out of reach. I wasn’t smart enough or rich enough to live the life I wanted. Because of this, at the age of 15, I exploded. Everything parents pray their child isn’t doing, I was, or I was trying to. In the midst of this self destruction, the greatest opportunity came up and shook my hand. I went from dropping out to picking up my cap and gown. JAG didn’t save my life, it taught me how to save my own.
