Leading the Way: Meet the 2024–2025 JAG-Missouri State Officers

JAG-Missouri is proud to introduce the 2024–2025 State Officer Team — a group of passionate student leaders who have worked tirelessly to amplify student voices, promote leadership, and represent the JAG mission across the state.

Meet the Officers

Jasmine Buchholz – President

Serving her second year as a state officer, Jasmine has led with vision and determination. From organizing leadership events to representing JAG-Missouri at key conferences, she’s been the driving force behind this year’s progress. Her dedication to inspiring others and fostering unity among chapters has left a lasting legacy.

Jyllian Torres – Vice President

Jyllian brings energy, organization, and heart to the officer team. Her hands-on approach in event planning and outreach has ensured that every officer had the resources and encouragement needed to succeed. Jyllian’s collaborative spirit has made a powerful impact statewide.

Hunter Cleveland – Secretary

Behind every successful initiative is great organization — and that’s where Hunter shines. She has been instrumental in maintaining structure, documenting meetings, and keeping communication flowing among officers and advisors.

Regional Representatives: Elevating Student Voices Across Missouri

JAG-Missouri is proud to have dedicated regional representatives who advocate for students in their respective areas and bridge the gap between local chapters and statewide leadership.

  • Paige Long – Southeast Region Representative
Paige has been a passionate advocate, organizing regional events and motivating students to step into leadership roles. Her enthusiasm has helped strengthen the Southeast Region’s presence within the state association.
  • Seth Shoemaker – Southwest Region Representative
Seth has championed collaboration and engagement, working with schools throughout the Southwest to build strong connections and create new opportunities for JAG students.
  • Andre Compton – Central Region Representative
Andre used his platform to build bridges and make lasting connections with people across Missouri and beyond. His networking efforts have given JAG-Missouri students a stronger presence among state and national leaders.

Empowering Leadership, Building Futures

Throughout the year, our officers have led with passion and purpose. Whether speaking at the National Student Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C., meeting with legislators at the Capitol during Career Association Days, or planning for the Career Development Conference (CDC), these students have shown what JAG leadership is all about.

“We were able to talk to political leaders from all over Missouri as people—not just students. It was rewarding to advocate for JAG, share our stories, and learn from the experience.”
Jyllian Torres, Vice President

“In the Southwest Region, eight JAG students met with legislators to share our experiences and help build new programs across the state.”
Seth Shoemaker, Southwest Region Representative

Reflections From Our Leaders

Each officer shared their reflections on their JAG journey:

Jasmine Buchholz:

“I’ve had once-in-a-lifetime experiences through JAG. My hope is to see it continue to grow and help students who may not even realize how much they need it. My advice? Take the chance. The opportunity exists because someone believes in you.”

Jyllian Torres:

“JAG changed my life. I want everyone to feel welcomed and informed, and know that JAG is for everyone. Don’t be afraid to talk or take part—this is a place where your voice matters.”

Hunter Cleveland:

“JAG is so much more than a class. It’s shaped my future and given me friendships I’ll never forget. I want to see it in every Missouri school, because every student deserves this opportunity.”

Andre Compton:

“Being a state officer opened doors for me—personally and professionally. I hope JAG grows so it can help others the way it helped me.”

Paige Long:

“This role gave me confidence and unforgettable experiences. My advice? Remember, the people you meet are here to support and guide you.”

Seth Shoemaker:

“JAG gave me a second family. Even students who’ve only been in the program a year show real change. Embrace new connections—they can lead to incredible opportunities.”

Looking Ahead

As our 2024–2025 State Officers reflect on their journey, they leave behind a powerful message for future leaders: Lead with confidence. Serve with passion. Embrace every opportunity.

Their hard work and dedication have laid the groundwork for continued growth, ensuring that JAG-Missouri remains a source of empowerment and transformation for students statewide.

Testimonials

What Our Students Are Saying

Before I joined JAG, I was lost. JAG provided assistance in pinpointing a career and making steps in order to pursue it. My JAG Specialist motivated me to make connections and to continue my education in the emergency response industry. JAG has changed my life!

JAG-Missouri Graduate

I felt hopeless because no matter what I did, I thought the future I wanted was too far out of reach. I wasn’t smart enough or rich enough to live the life I wanted. Because of this, at the age of 15, I exploded. Everything parents pray their child isn’t doing, I was, or I was trying to. In the midst of this self destruction, the greatest opportunity came up and shook my hand. I went from dropping out to picking up my cap and gown. JAG didn’t save my life, it taught me how to save my own.

JAG has been a life changer.

JAG pushes us out of our comfort zone. It has truly helped me find my voice. I have learned how to voice my opinions the right way – when to speak and when to listen. Without JAG I have no doubt I would still be living my old life. I wish I could have found my voice sooner, but the important thing now is: I have found it, and I will never let it go.
