A third generation small business owner, Carrie Tergin is fueled by a passion for helping people find the perfect gifts. One way she can assist is through her recently expanded Hallmark store just down High Street from the State Capitol.
However, it is through her role as Mayor Tergin that she hopes to give Jefferson City the gift of a better community for generations to come. Mayor Tergin actively works through her involvement on the Missouri State University Board of Governors, where she currently serves as chair; a Rotarian; a church member; past Downtown President; and more to build partnerships. Her goal is to build collaboration, confidence and buildings for Jefferson City during her term.
She credits her heart for public service to the generational influence of her grandparents, who came to the United States from Greece and instilled an appreciation for the many opportunities here and a heart of service and involvement to build those opportunities into success. Mayor Tergin’s leadership skills are often recognized through her honors.
She is a recipient of the Jaycees Distinguished Service Award, a Lincoln University Trailblazer, a Top 40 under 40 honoree and received a Missouri Award for Outstanding Leadership in Tobacco Control.
